At Aspire Wellness Studio, we focus on the health and wellness of the total body. Our chiropractic care aims to realign the body while our pilates and yoga training works to integrate functional fitness for your daily life activities. Our focus on the spine and core stability and their relationship to the whole body centers around creating a lifelong journey of fitness and health for our clients.

Dr. Kristine Lukens

 

Dr. Kristine Lukens was inspired to pursue a career in Chiropractic healthcare after practicing many years as a massage therapist.  Her clients were the catalysts that encouraged and inspired her to pursue Chiropractic.  Immediately upon returning from serving in Iraq during the Gulf War in 1991, she pursued her certification in massage therapy. She has been a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist since 1997, and has worked in the field of bodywork for over 24 years.  She received her Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Utah in 2006. While in Utah, Dr. Lukens was an integral part of the massage therapy program in Park City during the 2000 Olympic Winter Games.   Upon graduating, she relocated to southern California to pursue her Doctorate in Chiropractic at Southern California University of Health Sciences.  While attending SCUHS, she spent her summers as a volunteeer with the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP).  In 2008, she was selected to be on the medical treatment team as a massage therapist for the AIDS Life Cycle, and in 2009 was selected again to function as a Chiropratic Physician.  Also in 2009, she was selected by the faculty, out of her peers, to receive the E. Maylon Drake Humanitarian Award.  Her Chiropractic care incorporates her experience in massage therapy and her passion for sports medicine, physical therapy, and desire to bring people into a healthy, pain-free, and productive life.  Dr. Lukens believes strongly in the emotional component of health and encourages ALL patients to make lifestyle improvements from exercise and diet, to meditation and proper sleep patterns.  She enjoys being her patients' biggest cheerleader and is an avid supporter of proper posture and correct biomechanics.   She looks forward to seeing you at Aspire Wellness Studio and helping you on your path to wellness.

Rosalinda Vazquez

 

Rosalinda discovered Pilates in 1998 while studying for her BA in dance at California State University, Fullerton.  Soon after graduating in 2001, she found a local studio and began taking Pilates and yoga on a regular basis.  In 2006 she pursued a certification through BASI Pilates under the instruction of Karen Clippinger.  Since then she has studied Pilates and taken multiple workshops all over the world.  She performed for ten seasons with Nannette Brodie Dance Theater and was a guest performer with Sustaita Dance Company, Metropolitan Ballet, Grandeza Mexicana and Moving Arts Dance. She continues to perform in local musical productions and is involved in the music and dance department at her church.  She recently was certified as a Zumba instructor and teaches ballet.  She lives in Brea with her husband, Rick, and their 2 cats, Tango & Mambo

Stacy Mallicoat

 

Stacy first came to pilates in an effort to resolve her chronic back pain from sciatica. As a graduate student, she spent far too much time sitting at a desk in front of a computer, which only exacerbated her injury. Pilates not only helped to rehabilitate her injury, but she fell in love with the movement. After relocating to Southern California, she received her certification from One Body Studios / BASI in 2005 and has been teaching ever since. Her practice not only helps her to maintain her posture and body alignment behind her desk (where she continues to spend too much time sitting) or teaching in the classroom as an associate professor at California State University, Fullerton, but it also helped support her during her pre and post-natal journey. Her teaching style focuses on getting her clients to connect with their core to provide a supported spine and muscular flexibility.

Jessica Rollins, CMT

Jessica pursued her interest in massage therapy in May 2013 at Southern California University of Health Sciences, after completing undergraduate courses at California State University, Los Angeles. While studying massage therapy she met Dr. Kristine Lukens.  Jessica is grateful to be a team member at Aspire Wellness Studio where not only does she massage, but is also a certified Zumba instructor and teaches Zumba classes throughout the week.  She coaches cheer and song at her former elementary school, St. Gregory the Great. Her dance background not only allows her to continue doing what she loves, but she is able to incorporate body awareness into massage.  Jessica’s enthusiasm for movement and health is a great asset at Aspire Wellness Studio. 

Liz Romero

 

Liz's journey in yoga began 7 years ago and uses yoga as part of her self-exploration through life's journey. 

She is certified through Anahata Yoga and Wellness. Her approach to yoga focuses on creating a connection between the mind and body that focuses on generating peace and calm throughout life. Her philosophy leads towards self-empowerment and responsiblity for personal well-being, which in turn creates an awareness towards creating a healthier environment of stronger families, sustainable communities and global wellness.

Tina Makris

 

Tina began her journey in Yoga over 16 years ago after healing herself from health issues through meditation. She couldn't help but want to share this newly found gift with others. She is an E-RYT 500 through the Yoga Alliance and directs the Anahata Yoga and Wellness Yoga Alliance approved teacher training. She has an Advanced Yoga Therapy Certification through Loyola Marymount University, and is working on her Ayurveda Practitioners license. She is certified through the American Council on Exercise, and holds a 1st degree black belt in Chinese Kenpo Karate. Classes offered by Tina include classical Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Kundalini and various types of meditation. Her studies of over 14 years in the martial arts combined with her love and knowledge for Yoga and Ayurveda brings a well rounded open view in her teachings of the mind, body and soul.
